And then! A much more ridiculous and shocking scandal of harrowing bravery under adversity: DID Curt Schilling paint his sock red in game 6 of the 2004 ALCS?
That's what Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Gary Thorne claims he heard. "It (the sock) was painted," Thorne said to analyst Jim Palmer during the broadcast. "It was painted. Doug Mirabelli confessed up to it after. It was all for PR (public relations).Source.
"What? Are you kidding me? He's (bleeping) lying," Mirabelli said. "I never said that (to Thorne). I know it was blood. Everybody knows it was blood.""
Those are some pre-tty serious allegations to be shooting off, all willy nilly. I actually saw a Sox game in Baltimore once. The Boston fans outnumbered the Orioles fans by at least a 4:1 ratio. Hmm.... Jealousy much? Readers?

I'll tell you what? Jessica Lynch paints a pretty harrowing picture at that hearing. I wouldn't have given her troubles to a monkey on a rock.
It's true... I took out my bullshit line. When I first slapped it down on screen I wasn't intending to connote disrespect to Jessica... So when I said bullshit I was referring more to the situation in general and not the girl herself. Not the way it came across.
I've watched the testimony twice now. The girl is incredibly brave, both for her war experiences and for standing up to the government and media that manipulated her story.
I didn't get a disrespect vibe from what you wrote. I read it as a person who told it like she saw it. Which is what a blogsite is supposed to be.
People from Baltimore are lowlife, conniving scumbags. Everyone of them is ugly. They should turn the whole state into a leper colony and quarantine it off from the rest of the world. Nothing good ever came from Baltimore.
I think Curt Schilling is an egomaniacal right-wing jackass.
But I think Gary Thorne is full of hit. I have to admit, that game in the ALCS was one of the greatest sports feats I've ever seen. I'll stand by him on this one. But yeah, Schilling - helluva pitcher, kind of a dipshit.
God, I love those Red Sox. It's borderline unhealthy.
LOL now that's offensive! Bravo!
Ooops... I meant to reply to OB's comment, not tk's. But it made me think of something, so I just updated the post with another thought I had...
Also, tk, I try to blissfully ignore Shilling's right-wing dipshittery or it might have put a damper on that awesome '04 series.
Salted - It was also hateful, which is what I was going for.
The best thing about being in Baltimore is leaving it.
And of course, by full of hit, I meant full of shit.
Stupid sausage fingers.
